Tour Route
Join me on a Dublin Bay Bicycle adventure to the iconic PoolBeg lighthouse on The Great South Wall.
This is a guided tour starting from Custom House Quay and will take approximately 3 hours to complete to PoolBeg Lighthouse and back.
Cycling through Ringsend along the shores of the Shelly Banks where we will get up close to Dublin’s iconic Skyline Chimney towers at PoolBeg Power Station.
At the end of the 3 mile Great South wall, past the Half Moon Swimming club, stands PoolBeg Lighthouse with spectacular views from Howth to Dalky.
Lots more hidden gems along the way including U2’s Studio’s Grand Canal Dock and Windmill Lane recording Studios.
Meeting Point Chq
Tour will start from the Dublin Bicycles docking station located across from the CHQ cultural centre Epic immigration museum on Custom House Quay, adjacent to the Sean O’Casey pedestrian bridge and Scherzer rolling lift bridge’s. Not to be confused with docking station at Custom house.
Easily accessible by Red Luas line George’s Dock Stop, or just a 10 minute walk from O’Connell bridge or by Dublin bicycle.
Bicycle Rental
We DO NOT supply bicycles or gear. Dublin bicycles are sufficient and recommended due to the high volume available. With a one or three day Subscription and the first 30 minutes free on every ride.
Feel free to bring your own bicycle or you can rent a Bleeper or Moby bicycle.
Facilities & Amenities
There are choice of eateries at meeting point in the CHQ complex with toilet facilities provided. Be advised, there are few facilities available after leaving Ringsend. Dress appropriately for weather as it can be windy along the Great South Wall.
Half Moon swimming club is a popular Dublin Bay bathing spot for a summer dip at high tide . Dublin City Council check water quality regularly.
Price
Depending on how you valued your tour experience. At the end of the tour, you can show your appreciation by contributing what you think the tour is worth.
Research shows the average tip is usually between €15 and €35 per person.Taking into account the cost of a general paid bicycle tour in Dublin can be anywhere from €35 to €90 and upwards per person.
